Campers!
Well Todd and I have been getting out a ton lately and it has been so fun! I've never really camped this much before... I went a few times growing up and always love when Girl's Camp came around, but I definitely have been adapting to an outdoor lifestyle this summer! This weeekend, Todd's family had their annual reunion at Fish Lake and we were able to get the time off to head up for a bit. It was super fun! We got royally killed at Phase 10, tried to catch some fish, and took naps (sleeping through the night on an air mattress wasn't too easy for the pregnant lady). The fishing wasn't the best, and we were pretty worried about getting rained on so we headed home a little earlier than planned, but we were still glad we went and I was happy to spend time getting to know Todd's family. I got alot of ideas for the Cowan family camp-out from how they set up theirs so thanks! Pictures are coming... I can't find where Todd put the camera cord.
Anyways, we came home on Friday night and spent Saturday deep cleaning the house. I remember Todd saying on the ride home about sipping pina coladas in the backyard on our day off, but I definitely put him to work. He's a trooper though and helped out so much! We moved around furniture, threw stuff away, and explored areas we haven't touched since moving in. I was totally wiped out by the end of the day, but it felt so good to have a clean house! I remember how much Mom worried when I moved out. She didn't think I could keep things clean. If she saw me now! haha. Anyways, today is just a mellow day for me. I don't ever work Sundays anymore and Todd always does so that explains the long blogs. I do look forward to watching the Next Food Network Star at 8p though.
I also wanted to throw this out there for anybody who may have actually made it through this whole long thing, would you want to start a book club page with me? I know they have group pages on blogger and I know that some who read this also love to read books! Anyways, if anybody is interested let me know, and we can start building a potential book list and have reading discussions on the page. That way we can all read at our own pace and talk about it... So yeah, that would be cool.
One last note, Todd's daily update corner is new this week. He wanted a place to post because apparently I have been monopolizing the page and also I'm lazy about posting. He said he wanted to give you all a reason to check the page every day. I bet him $50 dollars of our shared money (not quite as exciting when you're married) that he wouldn't be able to do it every day and that he underestimated how tough it can be to find time every day. Anyways, he took the bet and lost on day 2. I decided to give him another chance, but now he's 4 days behind. Regardless, keep checking in for Todd's maybe daily, but still pretty often updates into his life. They're actually pretty exciting for me to read also.
Ok now I'm really done.

Update!
So the past couple weeks have been pretty awesome and exciting, so I haven't done much blogging. The time really goes by so fast, I can't believe it's already mid-July! So, just a quick re-cap. My best friend Mallorie and her friend came down to visit us a couple weekends back and it was so good to see her! We've been close ever since high school and we moved down to Cedar together to start college. She moved back up to Salt Lake one year ago and left me the only one still here of our friends that came down together. Anyways, it was just great to have her come visit us and hang out for the weekend. I love her to death! We went to Groovefest (a music festival in Cedar) and just hung out... I definitely miss having my own friends. Now that we're married we have friends together, but neither of us really hang out with just our personal friends. So, that was great!
During that week, the 4th of July came around and it was really fun. Todd had to work, but was able to bring one of the guys he worked with to the parade and we spent the morning on the side of the road watching our nieces and nephews from Todd's side fighting for candy. We also got to watch our dog pick up what was left behind. I had to work that night, but the girls I work with all came off campus and we went to the local fireworks show together. It was a blast. It is still weird to me to be away from my family during any holidays, because they were such tradition in my family, but I talked to my Mom and got excited about going camping with everybody over the 24th.
Also during the week, the little boy that I've been working with for the past 2 and a half years at the Family Support Center left and won't be back until after we move up to Salt Lake. It was so hard for me to say goodbye! I've spent so much time with this boy, watching him grow and mature and change. He called me his Suni because it was too hard to say Susie... It was bittersweet to let him go. His leaving also meant my end at the Family Support Center. I'm still involved in some developmental programs and other things at the Center, but I don't actually work hours anymore. I've been there for a long time and it's felt like a second home to me, but it also feels nice to only have one job for the first time in a while. Anyways, I just wanted to post Nick's picture because I really do think about him all the time and I love and miss his smile!
